چکیده

Abstract Objective To study the association between high activity of Factor II (prothrombin) in blood plasma with G20210A mutation and development great obstetrical syndromes. Material methods A prospective clinical cohort was conducted on 290 pregnant women (average age 31.7 ± 4.7 years old). The main group made up 140 patients, while control comprised 150 wild G20210G type. aim to evaluate venous during stages pregnancy regard trophoblast invasion waves. As per results, analysis value gestational complications carried out. Results In group, median (Me) ranged from 108% (preconception period) 144% (pregnancy) [95% CI 130–150]. patients GA type, significantly higher related periods, ranging 149 181% 142–195], p < 0.0001. With 148.5 180.6%, pregnancies had no complications. Higher levels were associated early and/or severe preeclampsia (PE) fetal growth retardation (FGR). Conclusion data obtained regarding plasma, juxtaposed syndromes, allow assume that manifestation PE FGR is this coagulation factor’s level activity. Threshold mutation, allowing predict PE, 171.0% at preconception stage (AUC – 0.86; 0.0001) within 7–8 weeks gestation it 181.3% 0.84; 0.0001).

Prothrombin gene mutation (G20210A) in healthy Centenarians.

A recently described genetic variant of the prothrombin gene (G to A transition at nucleotide position 20210) is associated with an increased risk of venous thrombosis (1). The 20210A prothrombin allele may precipitate cerebral ischemia or myocardial infarction in young patients with known prothrombotic abnormalities (2, 3). Similarly, it has been demonstrated that factor V Leiden further incre...

Factor V Leiden, MTHFR C677T and Prothrombin Gene Mutation G20210A in Iranian Patients with Venous Thrombosis

Background: Factor V Leiden, Prothrombin gene (G20210A) and MTHFR (C677T) polymorphism are the main biomarkers for evaluation of tendency for venous thromboembolism. We aimed to investigate the frequency of mutations in factor V Leiden, Prothrombin G20210A and MTHFR C677T and identify the genetic status for these mutations in patients with venous thrombosis. Methods: This study was carried out...

Haplotypes of the EPCR gene, prothrombin levels, and the risk of venous thrombosis in carriers of the prothrombin G20210A mutation.

BACKGROUND Haplotypes A1 and A3 in the endothelial protein C receptor (EPCR) gene are tagged by 4678G/C and 4600A/G respectively. We assessed whether these haplotypes modify the risk of venous thromboembolism in carriers of the prothrombin 20210A allele. DESIGN AND METHODS We genotyped 4678G/C and 4600A/G in 246 20210A carriers: 84 venous thromboembolism propositi and 162 relatives (13 sympto...

Increased plasma prothrombin concentration in cirrhotic patients with portal vein thrombosis and prothrombin G20210A mutation.

It was the aim of the present study to investigate factor II levels in liver cirrhosis (LC) patients with portal vein thrombosis (PVT) carrying the heterozygous G20210A prothrombin (PT) mutation. Plasma concentrations of factor II, VII, X, V, protein C (PC) total protein S (tPS) antithrombin (AT) and D-dimers (DD) were measured in 13 LC patients with PVT heterozygous for PT G20210A, in 13 LC pa...

Epidemiology of Prothrombin G20210A Mutation in the Mediterranean Region

There are many genetic and acquired risk factors that are known to cause venous thromboembolic disorders (VTE). One of these is the Prothrombin G20210A mutation, which has been identified in 1996. Prothrombin G20210A mutation causes higher levels of the clotting factor prothrombin in the blood of carriers, which creates a higher tendency towards blood clotting (hypercoagulability), and therefor...
